Bhubaneswar: The ITF Men’s Circuit Tournament 2018 began for the first time in Odisha at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar on Monday.
The tournament was inaugurated by Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi.
As informed by the secretary of the Odisha Tennis Association, Madhusudan Padhi, the tournament will have international men players. Of the 32 main draw players, nearly 50 percent will be from outside the country.
The seven-day long tournament named ‘India Future’ having a prize amount of $ 15,000, will conclude on March 4.
The qualifying matches will be held on February 23, 24 and 25 from which eight players would be selected for the main draw.
As many as 22 players would enter the main draw through direct entry. The All India Tennis Association (AITA) will allot wild card entry to two more players during the tournament.
