Mumbai: Ali Fazal was overwhelmed with emotion as ‘Mirzapur :The Movie’ received a house-full response at Mumbai’s iconic Gaiety theatre.
Reflecting on the packed shows, the actor called the moment a “dream” and thanked fans for their overwhelming love for Guddu Pandit.
Ali later shared a video from the evening, giving fans a glimpse of the packed theatre and the enthusiastic reception.
“Every actor who comes to Mumbai dreams of one thing… seeing their film play to a packed house at Gaiety. Last night, I stood there and watched it happen. Didn’t mean to get emotional… just love for all of you. Seeing Gaiety housefull for Mirzapur: The Movie, standing there with my wife, was one of those moments that will stay with me for a lifetime. Like I said, yeh aap sabka pyaar hai jisse hum hain… aur kahaaniyaan sunaane ki chul hai humein. Thank you for making Guddu Pandit yours,” he wrote.
The video captures an emotional Ali waving to the crowd outside Gaiety as he addressed his fans and said, “Main aap sab se hu. Yahi se aaya hu main. Ye film aap sabki hai, aap sab ko chalana hai. (I am because of all of you. This is where I have come from. This film belongs to all of you, and it’s you who have to make it a success).”
Ali’s emotional reaction did not go unnoticed by his wife, actor Richa Chadha. She responded to his post with a playful comment, writing, “An emo man is a sexy man.”
Guddu Pandit, played by Ali Fazal, has become one of the most beloved characters in the Mirzapur franchise.
After winning over audiences on OTT, the character has now made the leap to cinemas, where fans continue to celebrate his return.
