Bhubaneswar: As he took oath as Chief Minister of Odisha for the fifth consecutive term on Wednesday, Naveen Patnaik turned nostalgic, as he looked back at the 19 years he has been at the helm of affairs in the state.
“It’s a nostalgic personal journey for me to reminisce the past 19 years. Today while I take the oath of office for the 5th term, I humbly accept the responsibility that comes with the faith my 4.5 crore family members have reposed on me, yet again,” Naveen said on his Twitter handle soon after being sworn in as the chief minister by Governor Ganeshi Lal.
He also tagged a short video clip along with his Tweet — a collage of his previous oath-taking ceremonies.
Naveen’s siblings Gita Mehta and Prem Patnaik were present at the oath-taking ceremony at the Exhibition Ground here. Industry captains — KM Birla, Sanjiv Puri, Puneet Dalmia, Sangita Reddy and CP Gurnani — also met the chief minister and greeted him.
