Kolkata: Former Team India captain Sourav Ganguly confirmed on Thursday that a biopic on him will soon be a reality.
Ganguly, who is currently president of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), took to Twitter to share that his life story will be the subject of a movie to be produced by Luv Ranjan Films.
“Cricket has been my life, it gave confidence and ability to walk forward with my head held high, a journey to be cherished. Thrilled that Luv Films will produce a biopic on my journey and bring it to life for the big screen,” Ganguly tweeted.
Though the production house is known, it’s not yet known as to who will direct the film or who will play one of Indian cricket’s most charismatic players.
“Yes, I have agreed to the biopic. It will be in Hindi but it is not possible to reveal the name of the director now. It will take some more time for everything to be finalised,” Ganguly told News 18 Bangla.
The makers of the biopic stated: “We are thrilled to announce that Luv Films will produce Dada Sourav Ganguly’s biopic. We are honoured to be entrusted with this responsibility and look forward to a great innings.”
Luv Ranjan has produced films like De De Pyaar De and Chhalaang while he has directed movies like Pyaar Ka Punchnama and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety.
