Mumbai: Actress Tamannaah Bhatia had teamed up with Team India star Virat Kohli for a Celkon mobile phones commercial in 2010.
The duo looked charming in the ad, where Virat was seen tricking Tamannaah into giving him her phone number.
Once pictures from the sets of the ad shoot went viral, gossipmongers did what they do best — start a rumour that Kohli and Tamannaah were seeing each other.
A decade and a half later, when Tamannaah was asked about the link-up rumours with Kohli, the actress rubbished the reports. She said that she had met the cricketer only once for the ad shoot and after that, they had never spoken to each other.
During a recent chat with The Lallantop, Tamannaah divulged, “I feel so bad because I literally met him for only one day. I have never met Virat after the shoot. Na maine unse baat ki, na unse mili hoon.(Neither did I spoke to him nor did I meet him.)”

Tamannaah also broke her silence about rumours of her ‘secret marriage’ to former Pakistani cricketer Abdul Razzaq.
“Mazaak mazaak mein Abdul Razzaq! The internet is a fun place. Yeah, according to the internet, I was briefly married to Abdul Razzaq,” Tamannaah said.
Sharing her thoughts on fake link-ups, the actress said, “It’s very awkward. Jab koi bhi taalluq nahi hota hai aur log bana dete hain. But there is nothing you can do. Waqt lagta hai, you come to accept that aap iske baare mein kuch kar nahi sakte. Jisko jaisa sochna hai, wo waisa hi sochega. Aap sabko baith ke control nahi kar sakte. (When you have nothing to do with a person and people starting linking up. It takes time. People will think whatever they want to think. You cannot sit and control everyone.)”
Tamannaah was in a relationship with actor Vijay Varma for about three years — from 2022 to 2025.
Kohli is married to actress Anushka Sharma. The couple met on the sets of a shampoo commercial in 2013 and fell for each other. They have a daughter and a son.
