Mumbai: Salman Khan’s rumoured girlfriend, Romanian model-singer Iulia Vantur is all set to make her acting debut with Deepak Tijori’s short film titled ‘Echoes Of Us.’
Ahead of the film’s release, Iulia and Deepak shared their experience of working on the project on Varinder Chawla’s YouTube channel.
Asked how Iulia came on board, Deepak revealed that at first he wasn’t sure if the actress would agree to do the film.
Dismissing the hesitation, Iulia replied, “I mean, it was a great script, and it was an honour working with you (Deepak); why would I say no?”
Asked if she seeks acting advice from Salman, Iulia quipped, “I think he would tell me to act less. He would tell me to not do much and that less is better.”
Deepak chimed in, “Yes, that is something Bhatt sahab (Mahesh Bhatt) also teaches you. I think Salman also comes from the school of acting. Not acting is the most difficult part of acting. Knowing when you are going overboard is the best part of the skill.”
Opening up about the difficult phases of his career, Deepak shared, “This is what our industry does; it typecasts you, and I fell in that trap. Bhatt Sahab tried to break that trap for me, but his brother Mukesh told him that ‘you cannot make a film with Deepak as the lead.’ It was a commercial decision, so I don’t think I hold anything against him.”
Recalling how the role of Prem in ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’ came down to him and Salman Khan, Deepak had earlier told Bollywood Bubble, “He told me that I had performed very well, but since it was a love story, they went ahead with Salman. And I agreed with him. When he told me that women will immediately fall in love with Salman given his looks, I also accepted. I told him, ‘Sir, I am hurt, but at the same time, you are right.’ I was mature enough and never felt that he wronged me, I felt it was justified, so I said okay and walked back.”
