New Delhi: Senior BJP leader J. P. Nadda was elected as the working president of the party on Monday. Indications are that he may succeed the current party chief Amit Shah, whose tenure comes to an end in December this year. Shah was given the all-important Home portfolio in the Narendra Modi dispensation.
BJP has so far followed the principle of ‘one man, one post’.
Nadda has gained in stature ever since the outcome of the Lok Sabha poll results in Uttar Pradesh. As in-charge of the politically crucial state, he ensured stupendous success for BJP in the elections. The party won 62 of the 80 seats.
