Bhubaneswar: Union Health Minister J P Nadda is set to launch Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana at a special event inOdisha’s Cuttack on April 11.
Nadda, also the BJP national president, is also scheduled to attend a training camp for party’s MPs and MLAs, which will begin in Puri from April 11 afternoon. “The workshop will continue till April 13 evening and will be attended by the national president and senior leaders of the party. Accordingly, a preparation meeting was held. BJP takes such orientation programmes seriously as these are aimed at serving the people and ensuring development of the society. Achievements of the government and responsibilities of the elected representatives towards people of the state will also be discussed,” BJP MLA from Pipili Ashrit Pattanayak told the media.
Three Union Ministers from Odisha – Jual Oram, Dharmendra Pradhan and Ashwini Vaishnaw – will also attend the programme, he added.
However, it is not yet clear whether the new state BJP president’s name will also be announced during the upcoming visit of Nadda to Odisha. It is being speculated that the new state unit chief will be named by April 14.

On Saturday, Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling had informed that Nadda will launch the central health scheme along with ‘Ayushman Vayo-Vandana Yojana’ and the state’s Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana (GJAY) in presence of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi in Cuttack.
The state’s 1405 primary healthcare centres (PHCs) will participate in the event through video conferencing
He also mentioned the presence of the three Union Ministers at the event.
According to Nadda’s tentative itinerary, he will arrive in Odisha late at night on April 10 and fly back on April 12 evening. He will attend the training camp for MLAs and MPs in Puri. He is also expected to visit the CIPET and AIIMS in Bhubaneswar, Odisha BJP chief Manmohan Samal had earlier told the media.
