Sambalpur: With the exit poll survey suggesting dismal show by Congress in the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Odisha, dissension in the grand old party has come to the fore with the resignation of senior party leader Jagannath Patnaik from the coordination committee of the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) on Wednesday.
In a press briefing here, Patnaik said that he has resigned as the convenor of the committee and a member of the Pradesh Election Committee (PEC). “I have sent my resignation to the OPCC president with a request to accept it immediately,” he said.
He said took the decision in protest against the poor poll preparedness and management by the party leadership.
