Puri: The Jagannath temple in Odisha’s Puri town will remain closed for the entry of devotees for around 5 hours on Monday.
As per a notification of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), the special ritual of Khasapadalagi of the sibling deities – Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra – will be performed on Monday.
The ritual is performed on the 14th day of dark fortnight of Chaitra month in Odia calendar as per the tradition.
In order to conduct those rituals, the main doors of the temple will be closed after the offering of second prasad at Bhoga Mandap in the afternoon. The devotees will not be allowed to enter the temple from 5 pm to 10 pm for the purpose.
