Puri: Jagannath Temple, here reopen to devotees for darshan of the deities from February 1 amid COVID guidelines.
Speaking to media persons after attending a meeting on virtual mode with the temple’s servitor body ‘Chhatis Nijoga’, Puri collector Samarth Verma said it was decided unanimously to reopen the temple to the devotees considering the drop in COVID cases in the state.
As per the decision at the meeting, the devotees of Puri town will enter the temple through western gate, while those coming from outside will go inside through Lion’s Gate. They can have darshan of the deities from 5.30 am to 9 pm as earlier.
The temple will remain closed on Sunday for sanitisation works and on festival days due to heavy rush of the devotees, the collector said.
The devotees have to produce negative report of RT-PCR test or double dose vaccination certificate at the time of entry to the temple. However, the temple administration will release the detailed instructions on Saturday, Verma said.
