Puri: Amicus Curiae Gopal Subramanium, appointed by the Supreme Court to submit a report on the implementation of its 12 reform proposals for Jagannath Temple in Puri, met the Gajapati Maharaja at his palace here on Saturday.

Accompanied by the chief administrator of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) Pradipta Mohapatra, Subramanium arrived at the Royal Palace at 10 am.

Welcoming him to the palace, the Gajapati Maharaja presented him the Khandua Pata (cloth made of silk) and gifted a book on Jagannath temple written by Swami Chidananda.

After his meeting with the Gajapati Maharaja, Subramanium will have a meeting with the Temple Managing Committee at 11 am and Puri MP Pinaki Mishra and MLA Maheswar Mohanty at 12.30 pm.

Later, he will have a meeting with the Accountant General at 1 pm and the Chhatisha Nijog at 4.30 pm. The Sevayat Legal Cell of the Chhatisha Nijog (servitors’ body) will place its grievances on four proposals it has vehemently objected.

The amicus curiae, during his two-day visit beginning Friday, had a meeting with the SJTA, Shankaracharya of Gobardhan Peeth, Swami Nischalananda Saraswati, the Law secretary and the Puri District Judge.

Apart from this, the amicus curiae will also meet the chairman of the Commission for Jagannath Temple Reforms Justice BP Das during his two-day visit.
