Puri: Much to the delight of the devotees, the Shri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has decided to open the Jagmohan on Monday after a gap of 26 months.
According to reports, the Jagmohan would be opened after the servitors perform the Sakala Dhupa of the sibling deities.
However, the devotees would not be allowed to move inside the Jagmohan during the rituals of the Lords.
On normal days, the devotees can have darshan of the deities from Mangala Alati to Gopal Ballav rituals. During this period, they will enter Jagmohan through Jaya-Bijaya Dwara and exit through the Beherana Dwara.
This was informed by the Niti Prasasak of the temple Pradip Das.
Talking to newsmen, he said as per the list of procedures prepared by the Chhatisha Nijog in its recent meeting following the directive of the Orissa High Court asking the SJTA to open the Jagmohan on April 16, the devotees entering the temple through Simhadwara will enter the Nata Mandap through the sata pahacha (seven stairs).
From Nata Mandap, they will enter the Jagmohan through the Jaya-Vijaya Dwara and will have the darshan of the Lords from the Bhitara Katha. After the darshan, they will leave the Jagmohan through the Beherana Dwara, he added.
It may be recalled that the Jagmohan was closed for the devotees on January 27, 2016, for repair work by Archaeological Survey of India (ASI).
