Bhubaneswar: All India Congress Committee (AICC) on Saturday approved the appointment of Jagneswar Babu as vice president of Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC).
Former MLA and general secretary of Odisha Jan Morcha (OJM), Jagneswar Babu had joined the Congress on March 13. He was a key associate of former Rajya Sabha member late Pyari Mohan Mohapatra, who floated OJM after falling out with BJD president Naveen Patnaik after a failed coup attempt in 2012.
The party also appointed Gyandev Beura as OPCC General Secretary.
