The deceased has been identified as Athani Dehuri (42) of Beshalia village under the jurisdiction of Sadar police station in the district.
According to sources, Athani was arrested on Sunday by the Excise department on the charge of smuggling liquor and sent to the jail on judicial custody the following day.
