Kendrapada: A prison warder was found hanging under mysterious circumstances in Odisha’s Kendrapada district on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Bijaya Parida, warder of the Kendrapara sub-jail. A resident of Gurudijhatia in Cuttack district, Parida was posted as the jail warder of Kendrapara sub-jail.
Sources said Parida was found hanging from the ceiling in the barrack. He had returned to the barrack after duty on Friday and his colleagues later found him hanging.
While Parida was suspected to have died by suicide, the exact reason behind his death is yet to be ascertained.
A team from Sadar police station visited the spot and initiated an investigation into the incident. Further details are awaited.
