Jailor Thrashes Prisoner, Leaves Him With Fractured Hand In Odisha’s Sambalpur

Sambalpur: A jailor of the Sambalpur Circle Jail here allegedly thrashed a prisoner mercilessly, leaving him with a fractured hand, following a verbal dispute on Monday.

According to sources, prisoner named Avinash Behera, who is serving jail term in a murder case, entered into a heated argument with the other prisoners in the jail.

Failing to solve the dispute between the prisoners, the jailor on duty lost his cool and thrashed Avinash mercilessly, thereby leaving him with a fractured hand.

Following the incident, the injured prisoner was taken to Burla Hospital.

Accepting his act, the jailor stated that the victim prisoner suffered from minor injuries.
