Jaipur: A man was arrested on Tuesday for making a hoax bomb call to IndiGo’s call centre for its Jaipur-Mumbai flight, as he was running late.
The accused identified as, Mohit Kumar Tank, is a Jaipur-based choreographer.
The call centre received the call around 5:30 am on Sunday from Mohit, following which, the IndiGo officials reported the matter to Bomb Threat Assessment Committee (BTAC). The authorities carried out an investigation and the aircraft was declared ‘safe’ at 9:45 am, as per a report published in Hindustan Times.
Police detained Mohit and started interrogating him.
Sources said Mohit is a choreographer with a dance reality show. He had made the call fearing that he won’t be able to reach the airport on time to catch the flight.
Later, the airline called up Mohit who had missed the flight and assured him that he would get a ticket for the next flight.
When he reached the Jaipur airport, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) questioned him and he confessed to have made the call. He was handed over to the Sanganer police for further interrogation, an official informed.
