New Delhi: S Jaishankar on Thursday joined a growing list of Union ministers to have contracted coronavirus since the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020.
Union External Affairs Minister Jaishankar tweeted on Thursday that he had tested positive for COVID-19 and urged all those who came in recent contact with him to take suitable precautions.
Jaishankar had, earlier in the day, taken part in a virtual event –‘ The French Presidency: EU-India Partnership in the Indo Pacific’ — along with French counterpart Jean-Yves Le Drian.
Home minister Amit Shah was the first member of the Union Cabinet to have contracted the coronavirus — on August 2, 2020. Earlier this month, Defence minister Rajnath Singh tested positive for the virus.
