Jajpur CDMO Suspended For ‘Dereliction’ In COVID-19 Duty

Jajpur: Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) Dr Arun Kumar Patra of Jajpur district was transferred on Tuesday night for alleged dereliction of duty amid the COVID-19 outbreak.

Confirming the suspension, Jajpur Collector Ranjan Kumar Das said that he did not cooperate with the district administration in taking measures to tackle the killer virus.

Dr Sudhanshu Sekhar Bal will replace Patra, he added.

Earlier, five doctors were served showcause notices for their absence in the district headquarters hospital during the visit by the deputy collector.
