Balasore: Residents of Jaleswar in Balasore district staged a dharna before the block office here, demanding immediate shifting of liquor outlets from the locality.
Various women organisations, political parties, social activists and intellectuals under the banner of Anti-liquor Campaign Coordination Committee expressed unhappiness over the alleged inaction of the district administration
in removing the outlets located near the block office and Anukulachandra temple.
“These liquor outlets near educational institutions, temples and offices give rise to drunken driving and road fatalities. Despite protests and written complaints to the district collector, no action has been taken to address the issue,” one of the protestors said.
