Hyderabad: Vijay’s ‘Jana Nayagan’ has made an impressive start even before its release.
The film sold thousands of tickets within an hour of advance bookings opening, reflecting the strong demand despite its delayed release.
Ahimsa Entertainment, ‘Jana Nayagan’s UK distributor, announced that booking for the film has been opened. “#JanaNayagan — 24 JULY! Tickets ON SALE at @cineworld and the show count is ABSOLUTELY INSANE!”
“Years from now, people will ask if you were there. Make sure your answer is YES. This isn’t just a film. It’s a goodbye to the man who gave us everything. UK — we need you in those seats. We need you going MAD. We need you NOW. Share it far and wide and let’s make this the biggest send-off Tamil cinema has ever seen!” it added.

Shortly after bookings went live, the distributor revealed that thousands of tickets had been snapped up within the first hour. “Thousands of UK tickets sold in 60mins. the craze for this one name is just unbelievable. #JanaNayagan.”
‘Jana Nayagan’ was originally slated for a January release but was delayed after it failed to receive certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
An examining committee member reportedly raised objections, prompting the film to be referred to the revising committee.
After seven months, the film was finally cleared with several cuts and modifications.
On Saturday, production house KVN Productions confirmed that ‘Jana Nayagan’ has been awarded an A certificate by the CBFC.

Directed by Vinoth and produced by KVN Productions, the film stars Vijay, Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol and Mamitha Baiju, alongside Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Narain and Priyamani.
