Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police on Sunday warned the people of the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack of action against any violation of the advisory during the 14-hour Janata Curfew, imposed as a preventive measure against the spread of the coronavirus.
“Despite being advice by the police, some youths in the twin cities were seen driving bikes during the curfew period in gross violation of the government guidelines. Under such circumstances, we are left with no choice but to take action against them. By moving out of the house, they are not only putting themselves at risk but also their family,” Police Commissioner Sudhanshu Sarangi said in a briefing to the media here.
For any urgent work, the people should not to use their vehicle and instead visit the place by foot, he said.
“We advise that only one member of the family should go out of the house to fetch essential items and wash his/her hands thoroughly after returning to the house to keep the family members safe,” he pointed out.
The Police Commissioner also advised those staying away from their families not to return to their house during the lockdown period as a precautionary measure.
