Javed Akhtar To Be Honoured With SOA Sahitya Samman At Bhubaneswar On Saturday

Bhubaneswar: Legendary poet, writer, lyricist and scriptwriter Javed Akhtar will be honoured with the SOA Sahitya Samman for 2025 on Saturday.

Javed will attend the inaugural function of the two-day 3rd Literary Festival of Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA) Deemed to be University, to be held at SOA auditorium.

The festival will be inaugurated by Odisha Governor Dr Hari Ba

bu Kambhampati.

The SOA Sahitya Samman, which has been introduced this year, will be presented every year to an eminent person in recognition of his or her contribution to literature.

In a video message, Javed expressed happiness over his upcoming visit to SOA.

Delighted to be part of the SOA Literary Festival, Javed congratulated the university authorities for organising the festival and all its participants.

Javed was honoured with the Padma Shri award in 1999, Padma Bhushan in 2007 and Sahitya Akademi Award in 2014. He has received five National Film Awards and 15 Filmfare Awards.

Javed’s poetry collections ‘Tarkash’ and ‘Lava’ are among best-selling works in modern Hindi literature and have been translated into several Indian and foreign languages.
