Bhubaneswar: Odisha athlete Kishore Kumar Jena qualified for the Javelin final at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest.
Kishore thus joined countrymen Neeraj Chopra and DP Manu in the 12-man final to be held on August 27.
Kishore, who was in Group B of Thursday’s qualifiers, was placed fifth with a throw of 80.55 metres. Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem topped Group B by sending the spear to a distance of 86.79m.
Neeraj and Manu earlier sailed into the medal round from Group A qualifiers.
Tokyo Olympics champion Neeraj topped Group A with an effort of 88.78, his best in the season, while Manu (81.31m) was third,
The top six from both groups advanced to the final.
