Bhubaneswar: Former Odisha chief minister and Congress leader late Janaki Ballav Patnaik’s son Prithvi Ballav Patnaik is keen to contest the upcoming Assembly polls from Begunia constituency, which his father had represented twice.
“If the party fields me from Begunia, I will try my best,” Prithvi told mediapersons. “The Congress has a strong grasp in Begunia-Bolgarh Assembly constituency. My aim is to further strengthen the Congress party across Odisha. But I’m not sure if the Congress will give me a ticket to contest.”
Prithvi has so far stayed away from politics.
