Patna: In a shocking incident, Janata Dal (United) leader Jay Prakash Prasad was arrested from Bihar’s Nalanda district for allegedly roaming around naked in a drunk state.

Jay Prakash, alias Kalu, is in-charge of the youth wing of Bihar CM Nitish Kumar’s party in the Islampur Assembly constituency.

He was nabbed from Jagdishpur village, under Islampur police station in Nalanda.

“We informed local police after a video went viral on social media,” JD(U) Islamapur block president Tanvir Alam told IANS, adding that he has been associated with the party for a long time.

The video showed Jay Prakash taking off all his clothes in the middle of the road. His brother tried to persuade him to go home, but Jay Prakash abused him and kept walking.

Some onlookers recorded the scene and informed Islampur police station.

“We received information about a person who is creating ruckus in Jagdishpur village. We reached there and found he was completely naked and in a drunken state. During breath analysis, he tested positive. An FIR under the liquor prohibition act was registered and he was arrested,” Islampur SHO Chandrashekher Singh said.
