Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Monday apprehended a junior engineer of Phiringia block in Kandhamal district while allegedly accepting Rs 10,000 bribe from a contractor for clearing his final bill.
The JE, identified as Ashok Padhy, was caught red-handed with the bribe money in his government quarters, a Vigilance release said.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are on at two locations linked to Padhy to ascertain whether he has accumulated assets disproportionate to his known sources of income, it added.
