Bhubaneswar: A jeweller was injured after men on a bike shot at him in an attempt to loot him near Janla Market under Info Valley police station on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar on Sunday night.
The jeweller, identified as Lokanath Subuddhi, was hit by a bullet in his leg. His father Bhagaban Subuddhi was also injured in the attack. As they screamed for help, people came to their rescue and rushed them to AIIMS, Bhubaneswar.
Bhagaban and his son, residents of Dakhinamunda Muhan village, run a jewellery shop in Janla market. They were returning home after closing their shop on Sunday night when they were stopped by miscreants, who tried to snatch the jewellery bag they were carrying.
When they resisted, the miscreants opened fire and fled.
