Balasore: Owner of a jewellery shop at Belda square on Soro-Kupari road was allegedly kidnapped on Thursday night.
According to sources, Prahallad Behera of Atapur had received a call from one Sumanta Mallick of Dandaharipur, who wanted to buy some gold ornaments, in the evening.
Following which Prahallad left for Dandaharipur on a bike with around 50-gram gold. When he did not return home late in the night, his family members tried to contact him but his phone was switched off.
Suspecting that he has been kidnapped, they lodged a complaint with Soro police.
