Mumbai: Dolly, known for her role as Srishti Mukherjee in the TV show Jhanak, passed away in the early hours on Friday at the age of 48.
“Our beloved Dolly has left for her heavenly abode around 4 am this morning. We are in a state of shock with the loss. The final rites shall be conducted today afternoon,” her family told the media in a statement, just a few hours after the actress’s brother Manu Sohi confirmed that his other sister, Amandeep Sohi, also a television actress and known for her role in Badtameez Dil, had succumbed to jaundice.
“Both Dolly and Amandeep were admitted to Apollo Hospital in New Mumbai. Amandeep passed away yesterday and now Dolly,” Manu said.
According to reports, Dolly was diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2023 and had to quit the show Jhanak due to her health complications as she couldn’t shoot for longer hours after receiving chemotherapy.
Late last year, Dolly had revealed that she was on chemotherapy. “THANK U EVERYONE FOR SENDING YOUR LOVE AND PRAYERS Life has been a Roller Coaster lately, But if u have the strength to fight with it then ur journey becomes easier. It’s up to u what do u choose to be A Victim Of Journey (CANCER) Or A Survivor Of Journey,” she wrote.
Dolly is survived by a daughter.
She also gained recognition with her work in Bhabhi, Kalash, Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi and Khoob Ladi Mardaani… Jhansi Ki Rani.
