Jajpur: The Jajpur district court on Friday rejected the bail plea of the two accused in the sensational murder of Jharaphula Nayak, a Plus III student of Rama Devi Women’s University.
The Jajpur Sadar Police had produced Rakesh Swain, the prime accused and his associate Shakti Sekhar Swain in the district court. However, District Judge Srikant Mishra rejected their bail plea after examining the documents submitted by the police.
Among others, Ramakant Nayak, father of Jharaphula, was also present in the court.
Notably, Jajpur Sadar Police and the Commissionerate Police had nabbed Shakti Sekhar from Bhubaneswar during a joint raid on April 21 evening.
Police had earlier arrested another accused Amaresh Rout from Sundarpada in Bhubaneswar on April 11 while the prime accused Rakesh was arrested on January 28.
