Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren went into self-quarantine at his Ranchi residence after a minister he came in contact with tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
In a statement on Wednesday, the state government said, “Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren quarantined himself. Entry to the CM residence prohibited. CM had come in contact with state minister Mithlesh Thakur who tested positive for Covid-19 yesterday (Tuesday).”
The CM had recently come in contact with minister Mithilesh Thakur who later tested positive for COVID-19. The Chief Minister has also asked staff members of the Jharkhand CMO to go into home quarantine, reported India Today.
The chief minister’s samples are expected to be tested during the day, India Today reported officials as saying.
