Rourkela: The travails of migrants moving from one state to another continue to display amazing human capabilities. In the latest case, a pregnant woman from Jharkhand gave birth to a baby in Odisha and left for Chhattisgarh abandoning the newborn
According to sources, the migrant woman worker, who had come along with her family, felt labour pain near Sana Nuagaon in Vedvyas near here. With the help of her family members, she gave birth to a baby boy on the roadside of the Biju Expressway.
After the delivery, the woman left behind the baby on the roadside and moved towards Chhattisgarh with her family, said the locals who rescued the newborn and informed the Childline.
The Childline officials reached the village and admitted the baby to the Rourkela Hospital.
