Bhubaneswar: An undertrial prisoner (UTP) lodged in the high-security Jharpada Special Jail in Bhubaneswar reportedly fell sick after smoking ganja.
As per reports, the jail inmate, identified as Ranjan Behera (19), was rushed to the Capital Hospital after complained of chest pain reportedly after smoking ganja.
When he complained of discomfort and pain in the chest on Saturday night, his fellow prisoners informed the prison authorities about the incident.
The prisoners reportedly told the jail authorities that Behera smoked ganja in the evening. Behera was taken to Capital Hospital soon after a doctor at the jail dispensary examined him, sources added.
Sources said that other prisoners informed the jail warder that Behera had smoked ganja before complaining of chest pain.
It may be noted that the police have seized liquor and other intoxicants from the jail premises several times in the past.
