Jharsuguda: Alliance Air, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Air India began its direct flight operation between Kolkata and Jharsuguda on Monday.
The 70-seater ATR 72 600 aircraft arrived at the Veer Surendra Sai (VSS) airport here at 1.15 am.
As per the schedule, the flight will leave Kolkata at 11.45 am and arrive in Jharsuguda at 1.15 pm. In the return journey, the flight will leave Jharsuguda at 1.45 pm and arrive in Kolkata at 3.15 pm.
The daily direct flight services on the Kolkata-Jharsuguda-Kolkata sector will be operated under the central government’s regional connectivity scheme UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagarik).
The airline has announced all-inclusive one-way fares of Rs 2,758 for travel on the new route.
Founded in 1996, Alliance Air mainly operates domestic routes as part of the UDAN scheme.
