Jajpur: A youth attacked a girl with a sharp weapon and later injured himself over one sided love at Bandhadiha village in Jajp
ur on Monday. The accused has been identified as Ganeshwar Sahu.
Locals spotted the couple in a pool of blood and informed their family members. They were rushed to a nearby hospital in Dharmashala first, then the girl was shifted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack in a deteriorated condition.
According to sources, Ganeshwar loved the girl but she did not reciprocate his feelings. There was a dispute between Ganeshwar and the victim’s family members over this.
On Monday, Ganeshwar called the girl to a temple in the village. They had a heated argument, following which he attacked the girl with a sharp weapon. Then in a bid to commit suicide, he stabbed himself.
The girl’s family members have lodged a complaint at the Dharmashala police station.
