Mumbai: Reliance is likely to announce the launch of Jio Phone 5G at its 44th annual general meeting on June 24.
Over the past couple of months, there have been reports about this affordable 5G smartphone. Some reports suggested that the device could be priced under Rs 5,000, whereas others point towards a price as low as Rs 2,500.
Adding credence to the speculations is a recent statement by Sundar Pichai, the CEO of Google subsidiary Alphabet. During a virtual conference with select reporters from Asia Pacific, Pichai mentioned that Google is working closely with Jio to bring the promised “affordable” smartphone in India.
Now that Reliance is gearing to unveil 5G services in India, it may also want to release its 5G phone alongside, India Today reported.
