Bhubaneswar: Known for promoting meaningful films from India at international platforms, Delhi-based Odia producer Jitendra Mishra has been invited to Tel Aviv (Israel) International Children’s Film Festival 2017 as a jury member.
He is the first Indian to be invited as a jury member to this prestigious film festival. Celebrated filmmakers, actors, directors and industry professionals from across the globe will participate in the festival, which is scheduled to be held at Tel Aviv, Cinematheque, from July 18-22.
“I feel honoured to have been invited to one of the most credible film festival for children. We share a very good relationship with Israel and will be celebrating 25th years of relationship this year,” said Mishra.
He is going to host a session on children and film industry of India, share experience of producing children’s film in India and explore co-production opportunities between India and Israel during the festival.
Committed to meaningful cinema, Mishra has been associated only with socially-relevant films, which are a balance of right content and creativity. He has also designed and organised several international festivals, workshops and campaigns. He has been the festival director of Smile Int’l Film Festival for Children and Youth initiated by Smile Foundation.
