Bhubaneswar: Job aspirants who applied for the posts of Revenue Inspector (RI) and Amin staged a demonstration in Cuttack on Thursday demanding cancellation of exams being conducted by the Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC).
Alleging irregularities in the online exams conducted by OSSC in the recent past, the aspirants intensified their protest and made paper boats from their admit cards for the RI and Amin exams.
They were seen floating these paper boats in the Kathajodi River near Cuttack Netaji Bus Terminal (CNBT) in Cuttack.
“We had apprised the state government about our demands and the irregularities in the recently conducted exams. The government seems to have ignored our concerns,” the agitating job aspirants said.
According to the protestors, they will not qualify for the posts even if they score high marks. They warned the government to launch statewide protests if the exams are not cancelled.
The aspirants are also demanding immediate removal of the organisation engaged to conduct the exam and steps to hold fresh tests.
The authorities are spoiling the future of students by entrusting exam duties to a blacklisted company, they claimed.
