Bhubaneswar: Senior BJP leader Bijoy Mohapatra, who resigned from the primary membership of the party on Friday, said joining the saffron party was a wrong decision.
Briefing mediapersons here, Mohapatra said he has sent his resignation letter to the BJP national president Amit Shah.
Asked about his next move, he said he has not taken a decision as yet. “After Dilip returns from the foreign trip in two weeks, both of us will take a decision on our next move. I will take a decision whether to contest the forthcoming elections after a meeting with Dilip,” he added.
On the speculation on his joining the BJD, he said since the political scenario in Odisha is now in a state of uncertainty, he will take a decision in this regard after his meeting with Ray.
Admitting that his decision to join the BJP in 2009 was wrong, he said the BJP had shown no concern for Odisha.
Talking about the Mission 120 Plus strategy of the BJP, Mohapatra said the party leadership has committed a blunder while formulating the strategy for the ensuing Assembly elections. “Before announcing the mission, the party leadership should have an informal meeting with the party workers,” he pointed out.
Referring to the Mahanadi row, Mohapatra said neither the BJP and nor the Odisha government was serious about this most important and sensitive issue.
