Bhubaneswar: A group of unidentified miscreants allegedly attacked a journalist with sword in VSS Nagar area of Bhubaneswar,
The journalist, identified as Jyotiranjan Mohapatra, sustained grievous injuries in the incident that took place late on Saturday night. He was admitted to the Capital Hospital for treatment.
Narrating the incident, Mohapatra said he was proceeding towards his house on a vehicle when four persons on two bikes started to follow him. “They came closer and swung a sword at me. As I fell down, they attacked me with the sword and fled the scene,” he said.
Stating that he had never seen the attackers earlier, he said he did not have any enmity with them and has no idea as to why he was attacked.
The journalist sustained injuries on his head and hand. He was rescued and rushed to the Capital Hospital and his condition is stated to be stable.
The Mancheswar Police have launched an investigation into the incident while efforts are on to identify and nab the attackers.
