Balasore: A journalist was killed after a truck hit a motor-cycle he was riding near Bhalukasuni Chhak in Soro area of Odisha’s Balasore district on Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Sanjeev Behera (38) of Dahisada village near Soro in the district. He was stated to be a local journalist.
As per preliminary information, the mishap took place when Sanjeev was proceeding towards Udala from Soro on the motorcycle and a fuel-laden truck dashed against his bike.
The driver of the truck reportedly fled the scene after the incident.
A team of police personnel visited the scene and sent Sanjeev’s body to the Nilgiri Sub-Divisional Hospital for post-mortem.
Police have started an investigation into the miahap and efforts are underway to and apprehend the truck driver.
