Rourkela: A journalist was killed and his daughter sustained grievous injuries in a head-collision between the car in which they were travelling and a truck near Kuanrmunda on Biramitrapur-Rourkela road in Sundargarh district on Sunday.
The deceased were identified as Sanjay Roul (37). He was working with vernacular daily The Samaj.
According to available information, the duo was heading towards Rourkela from Biramitrapur when a speeding truck coming from opposite direction rammed into their car.
Sanjay died on the spot while his daughter was rescued by locals and rushed to Ispat General Hospital in Rourkela for treatment.
The driver of the truck, however, managed to flee the spot.
Locals blamed the speeding truck for the accident.
