Journalist Sarat Mishra Passes Away In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Senior journalist Sarat Mishra passed away in Bhubaneswar on Thursday. He was 87.

Mishra was undergoing treatment at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in the city.

He started his journalism career from Eastern Times. He went on to serve as editor of Odia daily newspaper ‘Samaj’ and also worked as editor of ‘Pratinidhi’ for some years. Mishra was also the founder editor of another Odia daily “Anupam Bharat”.

Born in Ganjam district in 1936, Mishra is known for his expertise in both Odia and English journalism in Odisha. The journalist fraternity has expressed condolence over Mishra’s demise.
