Sonbhadra (UP): A journalist and his wife were brutally beaten to death in Sonbhadra district’s Barwadih village, according to police. The journalist used to work for a Hindi daily as a correspondent.
Victim Uday Paswan died on the spot while wife, Sheetla, succumbed to injuries at a Varanasi hospital on Tuesday. The incident is an outcome of an old enmity with a former village head, according to news agency IANS.

“Inspector Kone police station, a sub-inspector and a constable have been suspended in this connection. Five of six accused persons have also been arrested while the main accused, Keval Paswan, who is also a former village head, is absconding,” Superintendent of Police Sonbhadra Ashish Srivastava was quoted as saying by IANS on Wednesday.
