Bengaluru: Three suicide notes have been recovered from the residence of Shruti Narayanan, a journalist who was found dead in her Bengaluru apartment three days ago.
The 35-year-old journalist, who worked as page editor at Reuters Bengaluru bureau, allegedly hanged herself when her husband Aneesh was away at Taliparamba in Kerala’s Kannur district, reported Hindustan Times.
According to her brother Nishanth, Shruti wrote three notes — one for her husband, another for the police and the third one for her parents.
“I am going to end my life and two people would be the happiest. You and I. I am happy because I am escaping this torturous life and you will be happy because you will not have me in your life,” Shruti wrote to her husband in a note dated March 20.
The couple, who were married for five years, reportedly clashed frequently as Shruti used to send a part of her salary to her parents. Aneesh apparently kept a check on her by installing hidden cameras.
On a complaint lodged by Shruti’s brother, Aneesh has been accused of charging with abetment to suicide (Section 306 of the IPC) and cruelty by husband (Section 498 A of the IPC) by the Whitefield police in Bengaluru.
Shruti’s note to her parents read: “If I live, it will be a reason of sorrow for you every day. But if I die, your sadness will last only for a few days.”
