Bhubaneswar: Jindal Steel & Power (JSP), Angul bagged first prize at the flower exhibition held at the Regional Plant Resource Centre (RPRC), Ekamra Kanan Botanical Garden here.
The annual state-level flower exhibition, which was inaugurated by Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on January 7, concluded on January 12.
JSP’s winning display featured an array of exotic plant species showcased under the theme ‘Pravashi Bharti’ to encourage inviting non-resident Indians (to contribute to the development of Odisha.
JSP Angul’s horticulture team, led by Executive Director in charge Pankaj Malhan, Executive Vice-President BP Mishra and Vice-President EMD Alok Kumar Sahu, presented a fine display that impressed the judges and visitors.
Around 20 corporate houses — including Tata Steel, OMS, Adani, Nalco, Hindalco, JSW, Kitts University — participated in the exhibition.
Odisha’s minister of Forest, Environment & Climate Change, Labour & Employees’ State Insurance Ganesh Ram Singh Khuntia presented the trophies to the winners.
