Rourkela: Logistics manager of a leading private steel and power facility was allegedly beaten to death in his room at the company’s guest house at Barshuan under Sundargarh district’s Lahunipada police station limits on Sunday night.
The deceased has been identified as Motilal Pal.
According to sources, Pal was residing alone at the company guest house for the past several days after being reappointed as logistics manager at the company’s Barsuan mines in the district post his retirement.
The waiter found Pal lying in a pool of blood when he went to serve him tea this morning and alerted the police.
On being informed, the company authorities and Lahunipara police reached the spot. The body has been sent for post-mortem and a probe has begun.
Though the exact reason behind the gruesome incident is yet to be ascertained, a dispute relating to mining and siding is being suspected to have led to the murder.
