Sundargarh: Jindal Steel and Power Ltd. (JSPL)’s TRB Iron Ore Mines at Tensa in Sundergarh district has received the prestigious Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) Award-2017 (Category-B) from the Japan Institute of Plant Maintenance (JIPM), Tokyo, Japan. Shri Pramod Kumar Patra, Unit Head of TRB Iron Ore Mines received the award on behalf of the company in a Ceremony held in Kyoto, Japan on February 21, 2018.
Congratulating the employees and workers of TRB Iron Ore Mines Ashish Kumar, Executive Director and Group Head (Mining & Minerals) said, “It is a matter of pride that TRB Iron Ore Mines is the only Mining to get this coveted international award this year. It is recognition to JSPL’s consistent efforts and commitment for achieving production excellence across its business”.
The TRB Iron Ore Mines has been selected for this award after stringent two stage audits by JIPM in July- 2017 and January-2018.
Receiving the award, Shri Patra said, “This award is a testimony to our best and safest operational mining practices and it further reinforces our commitment towards a world class operation in the field of mining.” He congratulated all the employees, workers and their family members for the international recognition.
In 2016, as a mark of recognition of its excellence in best practice in TPM, the company’s 9MTPA Barbil pellet plant was awarded TPM excellence category ‘A’ award by this Japanese institute.
JIPM launched the Plant Maintenance award system in 1964, to “strengthen the improvement of enterprise constitutions and contribute to the development of industry, by promoting the modernization of plant maintenance and the development of plant maintenance technologies.”
